Our Philosophy

By international standards, our design is top-tier, our sense of style is assured, the spaces are highly personalized, and our interior solutions are original. Those who choose us expect more—they want the entire process to be an experience, not just the result.
Have you already designed or built a few homes or apartments? Do you finally want one that you won’t need to renovate for a while? Then it’s worth starting with thoughtful planning. The internet is full of inspiration—perhaps too much. It’s easy to find self-appointed interior designers or architects who replicate existing solutions. If that’s what you’re looking for, we’re probably not the right choice.
If instead, you’re looking for an interior designer who listens to you, adapts your space to your habits, and reflects your personality rather than someone else’s, then keep reading.
Behind Geppetto’s website stands one of the most experienced and arguably most successful interior design studios in Budapest. Our team includes interior designers, architects, product designers, and even a sociologist. Together, they see the big picture, translate it into detailed solutions, understand the contractor’s language, and effectively represent your interests.

Interior Architect
What is that? Why not an interior decorator or architect?

We help you understand the differences.

Why do so many people confuse interior designers with interior architects? Why is it that an architect often feels there’s no need for an interior architect, since they’ve already designed the house or apartment?

The interior architect shapes the interior spaces.
They can move walls, rearrange areas, swap functions, and then fill the space with meaning, color, materials, decoration, and light. Simply put, with all the elements that turn a house into a home. But it’s not just about creating homes—interior architects do the same for cafés, museums, shops, or hotels. The difference lies in the client’s needs, the function, the target audience, the scale, and, of course, the materials used.

This work requires a wide range of knowledge: a foundation in architecture, some expertise in woodworking for furniture design, and up-to-date awareness of both domestic and international design trends and products.

It’s also essential to know where to source these products and at what cost—from sanitary fittings to lamps, wallpapers, and sofas. An interior architect must also be able to integrate the expertise of specialist designers, as they often coordinate their work, much like an architect does. This includes mechanical engineers, structural engineers, electrical designers, graphic designers, web developers, and others.

Beyond that, a strong sense of style, familiarity with different design directions, a touch of psychology, and excellent communication skills are key to becoming a truly good interior architect.

Yet, many people still believe that an interior architect “just” furnishes a space—which is why they often confuse them with interior decorators.
