Modern rural elegance at the foot of the Gerecse and Vértes mountains

From the very beginning of the design process, it was clear that we were embarking on a highly intentional project. The clients approached us for a consultation even before purchasing the house. They wanted to know whether their dream home could actually be realized here. After the consultation, it became clear that the house had far more potential than they had originally thought, so the design process began. From the start, we worked in close coordination with the general contractor’s team.

The proportions of the existing family home’s interior spaces did not align with the clients’ wishes. On the ground floor, the entrance hall was essentially just a large corridor, with nowhere to store coats, shoes, or even a stroller. The staircase leading to the upper floor was unnecessarily bulky. The same was true for the “small” bathroom and the mechanical rooms. The design process began with remodeling these areas.
On the ground floor, we created an entryway suitable for arriving and storing belongings, complete with a small bathroom that can also be used by guests. We redesigned the staircase. We also created an elegant space, which we affectionately call the foyer, ideal for putting things down and making a comfortable arrival.

The family’s needs included a cozy living room for watching TV and evening conversations, as well as a separate conservatory suitable for hosting guests. The kitchen and dining area became the common intersection of these two different functions, allowing them to serve both spaces. The guest reception living room, envisioned as an English-style conservatory, was realized as an extension of the house.

We also rethought the layout of the spaces upstairs. Here as well, there was an unnecessarily large amount of corridor space and many areas left unused due to the attic roof. The clients wanted two bedrooms, a walk-in closet, a laundry room, and a bathroom with a separate toilet.

The building was completely renewed inside and out. Alongside the requirements for practicality and functionality, the clients’ refined style was present throughout the process. As a result, the interplay of natural materials and a variety of harmonious colors came to life.

Client feedback:
“Interior design should be prescribed to everyone! At the beginning, I never would have thought that so much work goes into it and that it’s such a complex process.”
“We can’t express enough how grateful we are that, working together with the contractor’s team, our dream home has come true.”

“The entire process was characterized by intentionality, careful planning, and a refined style that complemented both. This was true not only for the clients but also for the contractor’s team.”
